This beautiful tropical flower is high in antioxidants (even higher than green tea!), anti-inflammatory, helps lower blood pressure (in those with existing high blood pressure, not those with normal or low levels), lowers uric acid levels in people with gout, improves cholesterol and triglycerides in those with pre-diabetes and diabetes. Hibiscus has also been traditionally used for maintaining urinary health in women. Known as rose mallow or sour tea, hibiscus has a relieving ability to cool the body while nourishing and soothing muscle tissues. Try iced in the summer!
Suggested use: Brew as a tea by adding 1 Tbsp. in a cup of boiling water. Steep for 5-10 mins. Enjoy! *Increase dosage if needed.
Other Preparations: Hibiscus Lime Ice Cubes: Brew a strong cup of hibiscus tea by adding 2 Tbsp. to 1 cup of water. Let steep for 15 mins, then let cool. Add lime to brew and pour into ice tray & freeze. Pop into your glass of water on a hot day!
